Ingredients

  • 1 pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup tomato pizza sauce
  • 250 g mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 100 g cooked ham sliced
  • 100 g artichoke hearts drained and quartered
  • 100 g mushrooms sliced
  • 50 g black olives pitted and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish optional

Method

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) to ensure a crispy crust.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface to your preferred thickness. Transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  3. Spread the Sauce: Evenly spread the tomato pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. Add the Toppings: Layer mozzarella slices, followed by ham, artichokes, mushrooms, and olives. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice and enjoy your homemade Pizza Capricciosa!

Notes

Preheat the pizza stone for at least 30 minutes before baking. Omit the ham for a vegetarian-friendly version. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle spice kick. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 5-7 minutes.
