Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced spicy salami
  • 1/2 cup grated provolone cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Let it Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to the highest setting (around 475°F or 245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
  • Shape the Pizza: On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a 12-inch round. Transfer it to a pizza peel or another floured surface.
  • Add Toppings: Spread tomato sauce evenly over the base, sprinkle dried oregano, and top with mozzarella and provolone cheeses. Arrange slices of spicy salami on top.
  • Bake: Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a minute, add fresh basil leaves, slice, and enjoy your spicy creation!

Notes

Add red pepper flakes to the tomato sauce or sprinkle over the pizza before baking. Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in a 375°F (190°C) oven for 5-7 minutes for the best results. If you prefer a milder pizza, try substituting the spicy salami with regular salami or pepperoni.
